John is a long-time Chesapeake-area resident and an award-winning photographer. When he’s not photographing it, he’s fishing it.
John’s book, Chesapeake Views, was released in May, 2012.
Two of his photos were published in the book “Storybook Cottages: America’s Carpenter Gothic Style” by Gladys Montgomery.
His photos have been used in conjunction with a Chesapeake Bay Foundation initiative with Orvis via web and print.
Photos from the Carolina Raptor Center were used in a Where Magazine promotion for the center titled, “Into the Wild”.
His work has sold in Bay-area art shows, has been used in commercial and non-profit promotions, and has been featured in calendars relating to the coastal Chesapeake area including the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s 2011, 2012, and 2013 calendars.
John won “Best of Show” in the 2011 Plein Air Easton! Arts photo competition judged by Nikon Legend Behind the Lens photographer Tony Sweet, beating out 400 total contest submissions.
